ACTIVISTS

Facts:

Did you know?

The production of meat and animal byproducts is the second most contributing factor to global warming.

Animals have feelings, just like humans do. So, when they are slaughtered for meat or fur(millions EVERY DAY), they experience fear and pain. (What right do humans have to kill something, when there are plenty of other diet options?)

One of the most sensitive parts of all fish is their mouth.

Millions of animals have gone extinct from human causes.

The production of meat releases methane gas, a chemical much more harsh to the environment than CO².

In slaughterhouses, chickens are debeaked, (as its name suggests) and it is a very painful process for them.

Chickens and other poultry are usually stuffed into crates only as large as they can squash down (literally squashed; they cannot move).

“Rennet” is the inside lining of sheeps’ stomachs.

Many animals that are forced to die also suffer from diseases and illnesses, some of which then may become food borne illnesses.

Pythagoras, Leonardo Da Vinci, Benjamin Franklin, George Bernard Shaw, and Albert Einstein were all vegetarians!

Food:

DESPITE the contradiction, it is completely possible to get protein from plants. In fact, you will probably get even more protein than you would from eating meat, with even more nutrients than just protein!!!

This is the vegetarianism and veganism page! Made for vegetarians and vegans, or anyone who is interested in becoming vegetarian or vegan. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, cool! Good job! If you are interested in becoming a vegetarian or vegan, I recommend it. Ever since I became a vegetarian, I have actually felt- I’m not lying- a lot healthier. (Some of you may be surprised, some may not be) I felt like my body was flushed of toxins. However, just because you are a vegetarian or vegan won’t help you become healthier. You still have to worry about getting enough vitamins and minerals.

So if you don’t know what to eat but you want to be either a vegetarian or a vegan, then I would suggest either 1.) Research that diet. or 2.) Contact me directly or post on the blog. If you want an answer sooner, I would recommend just posting on the blog. If you prefer to just contact me directly, then use my e-mail, and I will try to respond as soon as I can.

If you are a baker, and you either want to bake vegan desserts, pastries, or other dishes, or are vegan, and want to bake, have you heard of egg replacer? Well, it’s name speaks for itself, but it replaces eggs in a recipe. Since I have bought it, I have baked vegan cookies once in a while, and the rest of my family has liked them more than regular cookies!(I recommend Ener-G egg replacer, just because it is the only brand I am familiar with it, but if you know of another brand that you prefer, you could probably use that too) In addition, if you have ever noticed that empty feeling after eating a regular cookie? As though you are not satisfied and are still hungry? That doesn’t happen with these cookies. It fills you up, as you would think a food should. That way, you don’t end up over-eating. And you don’t have to worry about under-cooking anything, because there isn’t a risk for salmonella! It stays good for a long time too, so it’s DEFINITELY worth your time and money.

I will add recipes to this page once I have cooked more, and nearly all of them will be vegan, so keep a lookout for more to come!
